R290 Propane Low Temperature (LBP) Compressor

R290 is a natural refrigerant with a GWP of 3; it is a future-proof solution compared with the HFC refrigerants restricted by F-gas regulations. Because it delivers the same capacity with a smaller displacement, the compressor is smaller and energy consumption is lower. The NEU 2170 UA is the improved model that replaces its predecessor, the NEU 2168 U (788 W), offering 820 W capacity in the same body.

• 🚨 R290 is a flammable gas (A3 class): Installation, charging and service must be carried out by a technician trained in hydrocarbon refrigerants, with spark-free equipment and in a ventilated area. Observe charge limits and room volume rules.
• Electrical components: In R290 systems the relay, overload protector and terminal box must be of the hydrocarbon-compatible (spark-protected) type — standard R134a accessories cannot be used as direct replacements.
• 🔧 When replacing the compressor, always renew the filter drier and use R290-compatible POE oil in the system.
• Capacity comparison: In R290 compressors the same capacity is achieved with a smaller displacement; a direct cm³ comparison with an R134a model is misleading — select based on capacity (W).
