Designed for high capacity and efficiency in commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems, the Danfoss DSH600B4APC is a 50 HP (439,698 BTU/h) hermetic scroll compressor (Danfoss code: 120H1786). In the 50 horsepower nominal class, with 553 cm³ displacement and a 3-phase motor, it is intended for large air-cooled chiller and rooftop packaged air conditioning applications. Along with R410A, it is also compatible with the low-GWP alternative refrigerants R452B and R454B; it is supplied with a POE oil charge.

Technician Recommendations

• POE oil absorbs moisture; keep the compressor sealed until the moment of installation, and dry the system thoroughly before evacuation and charging.
• Cool the body with a wet cloth during brazing and braze under nitrogen to prevent internal oxidation.
• Pay attention to the phase sequence; scroll compressors are sensitive to reverse rotation, so verify the direction of rotation and the suction/discharge pressures at first start-up.
