Copper Check Valve 7/8" ODF Solder – Straight Type, with Strainer (One-Way Valve)

The copper-body 7/8" (22.22 mm) check valve is a one-way valve (check valve) that lets refrigerant pass in one direction only in refrigeration and air conditioning systems and automatically stops reverse flow. Both ends have 7/8" ODF solder connections and are brazed directly to the pipe. The arrow on the body shows the flow direction; the strainer mesh at the inlet end prevents coarse dirt in the line from reaching the valve.

Where Is It Used?

• In parallel-connected evaporators: in the suction lines of evaporators operating at different temperatures, to prevent refrigerant migration from the warmer evaporator to the colder one.
• In parallel compressors: in the discharge line, to prevent backflow to the idle compressor.
• In heat pump circuits: to route the flow around the expansion valve and filter drier according to the operating mode.
• In hot gas defrost circuits: to prevent the flow from passing into the unwanted branch during defrost.

Installation

• Position the valve so that the arrow on the body points in the flow direction.
• Remove the protective caps on the ends just before brazing; this prevents moisture and dirt from entering the pipe.
• During brazing, cool the body with a wet cloth, direct the flame at the ends and purge the line with nitrogen. Internal parts can be damaged by excessive heat.
