The Artiko LX-3113 is a 300 cm (3 meter) three-hose charging set used between the manifold and the system for refrigerant charging, evacuation and pressure measurement on air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It consists of red (high pressure), blue (low pressure) and yellow (charging/vacuum) hoses; with 800 PSI working and 4000 PSI burst pressure ratings, it is suitable for high-pressure refrigerants such as R410A. The 3-meter length lets you keep the manifold in a safe position on installations where the outdoor unit is on the roof, outside a balcony or in a hard-to-reach spot.

Set Contents, Technical Values and Usage Notes

• Color codes are standard: the blue hose connects to the low pressure (suction) side, the red hose to the high pressure (discharge) side, and the yellow hose to the center port of the manifold — that is, to the refrigerant cylinder, vacuum pump or recovery unit.
• Why 5/16"? The service valves of R410A systems are deliberately made 5/16" SAE to prevent charging with the wrong refrigerant; R22/R134a systems use 1/4". This set connects with 5/16" on the R410A side and 1/4" on the manifold side. If you encounter an R410A unit with a 1/4" service port, a 5/16"-1/4" adapter is required.
• The advantage and cost of 3 meters: A long hose gives working comfort on installations where the outdoor unit is far away or high up. On the other hand, evacuation time increases, flow resistance grows at deep vacuum and more refrigerant remains in the hose at the end of the job. Take this residue into account when charging precisely; prefer a short hose for critical evacuation work.
• Do not underestimate R410A pressure. R410A operates at roughly 60% higher pressure than R22; the 800 PSI working / 4000 PSI burst ratings are for this. Do not use lower pressure class (500 PSI) R22 hoses on R410A systems.
• Seal and valve core check: The rubber seals inside the fittings harden over time and leak; if you see a pressure drop on the gauge after charging, check the seals and valve cores first.
• Do not kink the hoses at sharp corners, do not step on them and do not leave them in direct sunlight for long periods; cracking of the outer cover shortens the life of the inner rubber layer. Coil the long hose in wide loops.
