This is a brushless DC (BLDC) fan motor that provides air circulation in the indoor unit of Arçelik and Beko inverter split air conditioners. It is manufactured by KELI Motor Group, and the manufacturer code on the motor is KLBL31008P003002L. It is supplied with DC 310 V, has a power of 30 W, is 8-pole and has class E insulation. It is a compatible part manufactured to replace the original motor number 5401276004.

Its body is of a resin-filled (resin pack) enclosed design; it is protected against moisture and dust and does not vibrate during operation. It connects via a 5-wire white socket, and the wires are marked with their functions on the motor.

Compare Three Dimensions Before Ordering

Indoor unit BLDC motors in this class look almost identical from the outside; the difference lies in the shaft length and the overall height. To avoid getting the wrong part, compare these three dimensions with the removed motor:

  • Body diameter: 92 mm
  • Shaft length: 47 mm — motors with a 49 mm shaft are also produced with the same body diameter; these are a different part.
  • Overall height (including shaft): 103 mm

In addition, the number of socket pins (5 pins) and the direction of rotation arrow on the motor must also be the same as on the old part. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the label of the removed motor.

Is the Motor or the Board Faulty? How to Tell in the Field

When the indoor unit fan does not turn, the fault may be in the motor or in the board that drives the motor. For 5-wire DC motors in this class the sequence is as follows — values may vary somewhat depending on the motor manufacturer:

  1. Supply measurement on the board side (motor unplugged, unit energized). With black (GND) as reference, 310–340 V DC should be read on the red wire, 15 V DC on the white wire, and 0–15 V DC on the yellow wire depending on the speed command. If these voltages are not present, the fault is in the board and replacing the motor will not help.
  2. Winding resistance (motor removed, de-energized). Holding the black lead fixed, check the red, white and yellow leads; a high resistance (usually over 300 kΩ) is read on each. A distinctly low resistance indicates a winding short circuit, and the motor is dead.
  3. Mechanical lock test (motor fitted, unit energized but not running). While measuring the DC voltage between black (GND) and blue (FG), turn the fan wheel by hand; the voltage should rise to approx. 6 V. If it does not rise, the rotor is locked.
  4. Free rotation check. With the power off, turn the shaft by hand; rubbing, sticking or a gritty sound means bearing wear.

The motor may be healthy even though the air conditioner shows an error code: when the board cannot receive speed feedback from the blue FG wire, it considers the motor faulty and stops the unit. That is why replacing parts without measuring is a common mistake.

The drive electronics of this motor are embedded in resin inside the body; when the winding or driver is damaged, it cannot be repaired and the motor is replaced as a complete unit.

An Inverter Motor Cannot Be Fitted to an Old Air Conditioner

This motor runs on DC 310 V and receives its voltage from the air conditioner's indoor unit board (PCB). It cannot replace the 220 V AC capacitor (PSC) motors used in old non-inverter air conditioners — the socket design, supply and control logic are different. On the old type of motor, the number of wires coming out of the body is usually 3–4 and there is a separate run capacitor; this product has no capacitor, and speed control is carried out by the board via the VSP signal.

Symptoms of Fan Motor Failure

  • The indoor unit fan does not turn at all. The air conditioner is running and the compressor switches on, but no air comes out of the indoor unit.
  • The fan turns slowly or does not follow the speed steps. Even if the speed control (VSP) signal reaches the motor, the speed is not held when the rotor winding weakens.
  • Humming, rattling or rubbing noise. This is usually bearing wear; the noise increases as the speed step rises.
  • The air conditioner goes into an error code after a short time. When the board cannot receive speed feedback from the FG wire, it considers the motor faulty and stops the unit.
  • The fan turns stiffly when rotated by hand or does not turn at all.

Board failure and motor failure are often confused in the field: the supply (VM/VCC) at the motor socket is measured to check whether the board is sending a signal, and then the decision to replace the motor is made.

Installation Notes

  • Before replacement, the air conditioner's power is switched off and you wait a few minutes for the capacitors on the board to discharge — the circuit carries 310 V DC.
  • The socket fits the board in one direction only; do not force it.
  • When fitting the fan wheel onto the shaft, the flat on the shaft must be aligned with the screw; otherwise the wheel will develop play over time.
  • The motor is positioned according to the direction of rotation arrow.
  • After installation, turn the fan by hand to check that it rotates freely, then run the air conditioner.
